We are delighted to announce a unique Sports Funding Fair being
supported by Lincolnshire County Council, Lincolnshire Sports
Partnership and SportingLINK.
The event will be held on Tuesday October 21st 2008 at the superb
Market Rasen Racecourse, in the heart of Lincolnshire, and will give
Amateur Sports Clubs, Schools and Athletes and all those involved in
grass roots sport the opportunity to meet prospective funding partners
face to face.
Paul Maylard-Mason, Managing Director of SportingLINK, said ‘This
unique event will give anyone looking to access funding for grass roots
sport the chance to talk to a significant number of key grant-making and
commercial bodies involved in supporting community projects.’
The event, which will run in two sessions, from 10am til 1pm and 2pm to
6pm, will be free for all interested parties nationwide, although only a
limited number of tickets will be available because of the anticipated
level of demand, which can be booked by registering via the
SportingLINK website.
Wendy Hart, Principal Officer, RACoL (Regeneration Across Communities of
Lincolnshire) who works for Lincolnshire County Council added ‘We’ve had
great successes in the past across Lincolnshire with Funding Fairs and
look forward to making this event equally useful and a very proactive
day. Access to recreation is a key part of the Lincolnshire County
Council strategy and we are proud to be at the forefront of such an
initiative.’
"From the point of view of Lincolnshire Sports Partnership this event
will be crucial in showing that local agencies can join up their
thinking and their resources to help local people. The same structures
exist all across the country in 49 County Sports Partnerships and this
is an example of all relevant providers coming together to make things
happen. I hope others will take note and start to do the same in their
own county areas" said Stephen De Wint, Chief Executive, Lincolnshire
Sports Partnership.
Paul Maylard-Mason, whose SportingLINK Company specialises in sourcing
Commercial and Grant Income for grass roots sport, added “We expect the
funding fair to attract a lot of visitors from all over the UK. There is
a real national focus on sport and developing future World Champions for
Britain, which thousands of volunteers across the country are committed
to at present, but many clubs, schools and potential professional sports
people are struggling to find the funding for facilities, youth
development, training and equipment. Hopefully, this fair will enable
sports development in the UK to move forward by giving the best advice,
support and access to funding under one roof.’
The event in October has already seen interest from exhibitors and
visitors from around the UK, and updates on exhibitors will be available
regularly on www.SportingLINK.net
